The Ruggedized Night Vision Goggle (RNVG) is produced by AB Night Vision in the U.S., and is known as one of the toughest dual tube systems available. This no-frills goggle can be ordered with a AA or CR123 power source in multiple colors. It is also available with an optional port to use an external battery pack for even more battery life. The RNVG goggle can be outfitted with any 10160 format image intensifier tube including thin film and filmless tubes in green or white phosphor.

The RNVGA (also sometimes called the ARNVG) is the long awaited all-metal articulating night vision dual tube system housing produced by AB Night Vision. You can essentially think of this as an adaptation of the RNVG platform to meet modern requirements for articulating goggle designs in professional and commercial uses. All the same features found across the RNVG line -external LEMO power port, and 7075 aluminum and machined Delrin design for ultra-ruggedness -are still here. The RNVGA adds the benefits of individually stowable optic pods that automatically shut off power to the tube when rotated above 75 degrees, as well as user-adjustable tension on the pod rotation mechanism. Finally, onboard illuminator and push button operation, as well as single CR123 onboard battery compatible, also remain staple features of the RNVGA.
The RPNVG, or Ruggedized Panning Night Vision Goggle, is a cousin to the RNVG and is available as a custom build system from Nocturnality with the housing designed and manufactured in the U.S. by AB Nightvision.
The distinguishing feature of the RPNVG is its ability to selectively switch between standard 40 degree field of view and panoramic 65 degree field of view in seconds. The RPNVG maintains the all 7075 aluminum construction of the RNVG, thus maintaining the legendary durability. In addition to the panning feature, the RPNVG optical pods can also detach from the bridge and be powered individually as monoculars with optional monocular power supplies.

The RNVG-VG is a further direct variation of the original RNVG fixed-bridge goggle design which redesigns the system for compatibility with standard 11769 image tubes typically found in the PVS14 monocular. This means that users of existing PVS14 monoculars who want to upgrade to a dual tube platform have the option of utilizing their existing image tube, paired with a second similar tube, in the RNVG-VG as an easy step-up that requires no tube modification. The RNVG-VG utilizes a four setting gain control knob to control output brightness, and a new throw lever control style. This goggle is an excellent option for those looking to go from a monocular to a binocular night vision system who do not have the ability or desire to sell their existing system, but also may not want to have the expenditure of an entirely new goggle.
The DTNVS, or Dual Tube Night Vision System, is the successor to the DTNVG from ACT in Black, and one of the most intelligently designed dual tube goggles on the market today. The DTNVS is an excellent choice for those wishing to have PVS15 capabilities in a more commercially supported package. The DTNVS features articulating optic pods a la PVS15’s or PVS31’s, which will automatically shut off when stored in the up position. The DTNVS goggle can be outfitted with any 10160 format image intensifier tube including thin film and filmless tubes in green or white phosphor.

The latest iteration of the DTNVS platform is nearly identical to the original DTNVS but with one important, boundary-breaking additional feature; manual gain control.
The DTNVS v2 MG is the first proven, widely available custom-buildable night vision goggle that allows for manual gain control with most popular image tube types. The secret is in the pairing of the original goggle design with a custom manufactured electrical flex circuit that can be easily added to a standard image tube by a qualified technician, adding the necessary circuit for adjustable gain without having to re-engineer the entire system around a standard 11769 EGAC pigtail on a PVS14 style image tube.
The DTNVS v2 MG has everything we’ve grown to love about the original fixed-gain DTNVS, including light weight even with use of standard optics, automatic pod shutoff, optional IPD stops, but now with adjustable gain.

The PVS14 is the workhorse of monocular night vision solutions, and is especially useful for lightweight applications or for those just starting out in the world of high end night vision. The PVS14 is robust, powered by a single AA battery, and features adjustable gain (requires a gain-controllable tube). A single PVS14 requires a mounting interface to connect to common helmet mounts, often referred to as a J-arm (included). PVS14’s can also be combined to form dual tube goggles with optional accessories known as a bridge mount.

In 2021, Noisefighters designed and released the Panobridge – a bridge mount for dual PVS14 style monoculars with a groundbreaking feature that allows for up to 75 degrees field of view selectable by the user. This capability has lead Nocturnality to offer full Panobridge goggle buildouts using PVS14 monoculars as a standard product.

Hybrid Vision is the combination of both night vision and thermal technology together using a bridged approach, where one independent night vision monocular and one independent thermal monocular are combined to create a joint solution. This solution is an effective approach to provide the benefits of advanced military Fusion systems, but with greater accessibility, modularity, and adaptablility for a wider variety of possible end users. We custom assmeble these setups using a variety of proven components on the thermal side, utilizing the Noisefighters Panobridge series of bridge mounts. We have found after years of use that the Panobridge provides the best bridging option for Hybrid Vision due to its combination of extremely low weight and modularity for both hard-attach and quick-detach mounting solution for various thermal monoculars. The benefits of hybrid vision are significant in the context of defense, hunting, and surveillance applications compared to traditional night vision alone. We caution that these systems are less ‘plug and play’ and immediately user friendly compared to traditional dual tube night vision, however.

Factory Built Headborne Systems
Systems manufactured and completed by third party partners, sold by Nocturnality
The BNVD-SG is an advanced articulating goggle which is differentiated from the DTNVS by being made in America as a factory completed product, and having user controllable gain. Battery pack compatibility is also possible upon request. Like the DTNVS, the NVD-BNVD system features articulating optic pods which automatically shut off when rotated to the up position. BNVD-SG systems are available primarily with high performance milspec grade thin-film image intensifiers from Elbit Systems of America, but can also be special ordered with L3Harris unfilmed white phosphor image tubes and Photonis white phosphor as available from the manufacturer Night Vision Devices.
In addition to the standard SG variant which utilizes milspec PVS14 optics, the Ultra Light BNVD-SG variant utilizes light weight optics from Rochester Precision Optics to reduce the total system weight to 17oz, making it competitive directly with the PVS31A in features and weight.

The PVS-31D or Delta from Elbit Systems of America became the new Marine Corps squad binocular in 2020, winning a major night vision contract for Elbit Systems’ previously available F5032 goggle platform. The PVS-31D is one of the best factory built articulating goggle systems on the market today, balancing features, tube performance, and weight perfectly. This makes the system one of the premiere factory built offerings in our lineup.
